Glover-Rolle, Pia Takita

Hon. Pia T. Glover-Rolle is the Member of Parliament for the Golden Gates Constituency and the Minister of Labour and Public Service.

Her tenure in government has been defined by a number of successful reforms and improvements as she led a re-imagining of the public service, which included across-the-board increases in public servant salaries, an increase in pensions, revamped recruitment, onboarding and training processes, a significantly reduced promotions backlog, a Ministry-wide digitalisation effort, the first public service-wide promotional exercise in over nine years, and improved labour relations with 51 new agreements signed in 3 years.

As Minister of Labour and Public Service, she will continue to maintain positive labour relations, improve efficiency and productivity for public service and labour-related systems, and drive the modernization of government HR and Labour policies and legislation.

She is the first Deputy Leader of Government business in The Bahamas Parliament, a member of the Parliamentary Human Rights Committee, and a member of the newly enacted Parliamentary Services Commission. Internationally, she serves as the Internal Auditor for the Inter-Parliamentary Union and the Chair of the Working Group on the Future of Work for the Americas for OAS IACML.

Prior to entering frontline politics, Minister Glover-Rolle launched PTG Marketing & Modeling Agency in 1999 and founded the Music, Model & Talent Showcase of the Islands (Island MMTS). Through these enterprises she mentored, trained and empowered top local talent to take advantage of international opportunities. She also owns a successful Immigration consultancy and Employment Agency and is a Certified Labour Advocate and Justice of the Peace.

Minister Glover-Rolle is a lifelong member and contributor to the Progressive Liberal Party, having previously served in many capacities and positions, the latest being Party National Vice Chairman. She is very active in her local church, a wife of 24 years and a mother of beautiful three daughters.
